I’m declaring that we have officially moved from the Information Age to the the Socialtainment Age. By this, I simply mean if you don’t yet have and share content on Facebook, The Village, College Slackers, Youtube, MySpace or any other social networking website, then you’re probably older than 40 and a Re********, holding on to old beliefs and old ways of thinking. Let us not forget that the entertainment part of the Socialtainment Age is key. The more entertaining the content, the more popular it is, often resulting in hundreds of thousands of hits. The more hits per content, the more valuable that piece of content becomes. The more valuable the content becomes, the more commercialized it will become. The more commercialized content becomes, the more individually generated content we will see blasting the commercialized content in an entertaining way. Friggin love it!
FYI: Visit dictionary.com, probably the most straightforward information site there is, yet, the first thing you see, in the upper left corner is the dictionary.com “word of the day.” Entertainment, dictionary.com-style.
